Athens - Acropolis
The Acropolis of Athens is a rocky hill 156 m above sea level and about 70 m high above the city of Athens. The Parthenon is the main and largest building of the Acropolis, attracting admiration around the world for centuries now. Works for the construction of the marble temple of Athena began in 447 BC under the direction of architects Ictinus and Callicrates. Every four years Athenians would hold the Panathenaic Games, which were of equal fame to the Olympic Games.
For the Western World especially during classic Renaissance, but also from the middle of the 18th century and on, the Acropolis has been referred to as the main symbol of Classical Greece’s heritage and glorious past.

Athens - Monastiraki
Monastiraki is a neighbourhood of Athens around Monastiraki Square, which extends to the south side of Ermou Street from Mitropoleos Square to Thissio Square. It is situated next to the areas of Psirri, Plaka and Thissio. It gets its name from the old church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, located on the square, which was formerly a dependency of the monastery of Kareas in mount Hymettus. Monastiraki Square is dominated by the old Tzistarakis Mosque, currently housing an annex of the Folk Art Museum.
At a stone’s throw from Monastiraki Square, you will find Avissinia Square, and the flea market, formerly known for its antique shops. Nowadays there are still many old-school shops, although most of them now sell new products, mostly souvenirs and clothes.

Delphi
Delphi was the ancient Greek city hosting the ancient Greek world’s most famous oracle. References to the city under the name of Peetho were made since Homer’s time. In the beginning, it was one of the cities of ancient Phocis, but gradually it took on a more significant role and developed into a Pan-Hellenic centre and a holy city for ancient Greeks. Due to the oracle’s great prestige, Greek cities fled to it when important decisions had to be made. Delphi is an area of high tourist traffic, as it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Delphi is at a short distance from Arachova, an important winter destination of Mainland Greece, and within easy reach from the summer resort of Itea and the traditional settlement of Galaxidi.

Epidaurus - Mycenae
Epidaurus is a historic town in the eastern part of the municipality of Argolida. It is built at the foot of Arachnaion, Koryfaion and Tithion Mounts where, according to mythology, Asclepius was born and his worship began there for the first time in the 6th century BC. The town’s strategic position, but mainly the sanctuary of Asclepius, contributed to its unprecedented growth.
Mycenae was an ancient city of Argolida near Mount Tritos and across the Argolic Gulf. During the second millennium BC, Mycenae was one of the largest centres of Greek civilization- a strong military fortress that dominated most of southern Greece.
Today visitors in the area will find the small village of Mycenae and the ruins of the Acropolis in the area, a mere memory of long-gone and glorious times. The most important monuments surviving to this day are the two grave circles A and B, the treasure of Atreus, the vaulted tomb of Clytemnestra, the Lion Gate, the Royal Palace, the temple, the Northern Gate and the Underground Cistern are among the most important ruins today.

Kalavryta
Kalavryta is a town on the mountains of the prefecture of Achaia. Built on the slopes of Aroania (Mt. Helmos), at an altitude of 735 metres. Today, Kalavryta is a tourist attraction mainly during the winter season, priding itself over one of the best winter season infrastructures in Greece, mainly its ski resort. Noteworthy destinations in the area of Kalavryta are the two historical monasteries of Agia Lavra and Megalo Spilaio, the plane tree forest of the Aroanios River springs in Planitero, as well as the Cave of the Lakes near the village of Kastria in Achaia and the Vouraikos River Gorge crossed by the famous cog railway. The railway is used to this day and takes passengers through a ride through one of the most beautiful train routes in Europe.

Nafplio
Nafplio is a town in the Peloponnese, the capital of Argolida and the main port of eastern Peloponnese. It is one of the most picturesque cities in the country and was the capital of the Greek state between1828 and 1833. It has been characterized as a traditional settlement. Nafplio is known for Bourtzi - a small fort built on an island within the port-, Palamidi -a Venetian fortress that dominates the city-, Akronafplia, - a Venetian fortress on the homonymous peninsula. It is also known as the place of murder of Ioannis Kapodistrias.
The most beautiful buildings of the city are the Armansberg Residence and the Archaeological Museum of Syntagma Square. The city also boasts its own annex of the National Art Gallery.

Olympia
Olympia was the most glorious sanctuary of ancient Greece dedicated to Zeus. The venue of the Olympic Games, which took place during the Olympic Zeus festival - the most significant feast of the Greeks in ancient times. In Olympia, in the magnificent temple dedicated to Zeus, stood the god's statue ornamented with ebony and ivory. In antiquity, this work by Pheidias, was considered one of the seven wonders of the world. The Olympic Games first appeared in 776 BC, while they took place every four years. During the Hellenistic period several edifices, of mainly secular use, such as a Gymnasium and an Arena, were erected, and in the Roman times, they acquired their current form. In addition hot baths, luxurious residences and an aqueduct were also built.
